Katerina Lewis
Katerina is an Atlanta native and freelance performer and teacher of viola and violin. Katerina began her musical studies at age eleven under the baton of renowned string teacher Earl Kuutti. By 14, she was performing professionally, and by 16, she had started her own teaching studio.
Katerina received a Bachelor of Music degree in music performance from Converse College in 2007. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in Music Performance at Georgia State University, where her studies with Tania Maxwell Clements encouraged her to broaden her ideas of what a professional musician’s career could be like.
Since finishing graduate school in 2009, Katerina has performed around the southeast with many regional symphonies and worked for 14 years as the founder of one of the most sought-after string groups in the Atlanta area, Luna Strings. Katerina is now a founding member of The Atlanta Trio. She teaches viola and violin to students of all ages in the Grant Park and Dunwoody neighborhoods and coordinates music for countless special events and community service opportunities. In her free time, Katerina enjoys reading, watching baseball, working out, volunteering with a cat rescue, and all things Atlanta, especially the local food scene.
